About Comfort Sides
Comfortsides is a food blog focused on simple, tested recipes for everyday cooking.

Meet the author
Lorraine Beckett
Lorraine's mother never wrote anything down, and when she passed, thirty years of Sunday dinners almost went with her. Lorraine spent a whole winter crying over a pot of greens until she got them right. Every side dish here is a piece of that woman, saved before it could be lost.
What you will find here
Comfort Sides is about the dishes that quietly make the meal: mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, gratins, stuffing, greens, and the rest of the table. Mains get enough attention elsewhere.
How recipes get made here
Each side is cooked at least three times, once alongside the main it is meant to sit next to, so the timings fit a real dinner. Make-ahead and reheating notes are tested, not guessed.
Some links on the site are affiliate links. If you buy through one, the site may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes what gets recommended.

This site is about the sides. The mains can look after themselves. Every recipe here is tested at a real family table.
